I have seen statements that deaf people whose native language is sign language statistically have a lower reading age or may struggle to process lots of written information -which has a big impact on how we all provide information online. Can anyone more knowledgeable than me please comment on this ?

This is great to see Inne. At Childnet, we are very excited to see how you have used the STAR toolkit and taken it on in a great new direction. I think it is a great example of how the Insafe network works so well, with sharing and collaboration between Safer Internet Centres. We are relaunching our updated STAR toolkit on 3rd December, next week, and can wait to share it with you.

The “Easy Reading” software tool, supported under the EU Horizon 2020 program, helps people with cognitive disabilities to better read, understand and use all webpages. The objective is to make webpages more accessible for everyone. It allows for example to adjust the layout and structure of web-pages, explains web content with symbols, pictures and videos or translates content into a different language level, e.g. Plain Language or Easy-to-Read, symbol writing systems.https://www.easyreading.eu/

01:54:28
